Synchronizing
Before launching Icon Sync from your computer, connect your Icon to the computer via the USB cable and place your Icon in Disk Drive Mode using the procedure described in the Disk Drive Mode section of this manual. Launch Icon Sync from your desktop. The program opens with a menu of 4 items. The first 3 are check boxes which are checked by default. These items are Synchronize Calendar, Synchronize Contacts, and Synchronize Music. You can uncheck any of the boxes by pressing the spacebar if you do not wish to have a particular item synchronized.
The fourth item in the menu is the Synchronize Button. Press space or enter on this to start synchronization. When synchronization is complete, a dialog pops up to notify you. Press space on the OK button. You can then press Cancel on the Icon to exit Disk Drive Mode and unhook the Icon from the computer.
If synchronization is erratic or you need to synchronize with a different unit, access the Sync pull-down menu on the PC by pressing Alt, and choose the Reset option. This menu also contains an option for managing the music folders that are synchronized with Icon’s Music folder when the Sync Music check box is selected.
