Conventions Used in This Document

For the purposes of this document, keys that are to be pressed simultaneously are separated by a + (plus) sign. For example, the Thumb Braille command for Enter is to press * and # (Star and Pound) at the same time. This appears as Star + Pound. Keys that are to be pressed in sequence are separated by a comma and a space. For instance, the command to spell the last thing spoken is Status followed by Help. This is shown as Status, Help. Dots of a Braille cell are separated by dashes. The dot combination for typing a : (colon) in computer Braille is dots 1, 5, and 6 and is written as 1-5-6.
