Transmission of Payment Data
LevelStar employs the Payflow Pro account, administered by Pay-Pal®, as the method for securing payment data transmitted on our site. By using Pay-Pal®, confidential information in transit from your computer to LevelStar vis-à-vis Pay-Pal®, is automatically encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest commercially available level.) Once the consumer’s information reaches Pay-Pal®, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. Pay-Pal® servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers. Pay-Pal® uses industry-recognized AVS and CVV2 checks to thwart identity theft. Finally, Pay-Pal® also employs a patent-pending bank account verification as an additional level of authentication.
Payflow Pro works in the following manner: customers make purchases through LevelStar’s website, using our storefront. The storefront application passes the transaction data to the Payflow Pro gateway client. The client sends the data to Pay-Pal® and the Payflow processing cycle begins. Pay-Pal® will then securely route your customer information through a network of processors and financial institutions. Your bank then authorizes or declines the transaction and notifies Pay-Pal®. Upon approval, Pay-Pal® will send LevelStar a confirmation. When LevelStar agrees to settle the transaction, our bank will credit our merchant account. All while your financial information is safely encrypted and stored by Pay-Pal®.
